After struggling with regular earbuds that trapped moisture in my ear canal, I switched to the SoundCore Aerofit 2 open-ear headphones, and they’ve completely solved that problem. These headphones have become my go-to for running, podcast listening, and work calls.

Comfort and Fit
The Aerofit 2 are incredibly comfortable – so much so that I sometimes forget I’m wearing them. The open-ear design means no more ear canal issues, and the secure fit with three adjustment options keeps them stable even during longer runs. Whether I’m knocking out 10 kilometers or wearing them throughout the workday, there’s no discomfort or pressure points.
Running Performance
For running, these headphones are exceptional. The open-ear design provides excellent situational awareness, which is a genuine safety benefit, especially during night runs when you need to hear people approaching from behind. The secure fit means they never shift or fall out, even during intense sessions. The 10-hour battery life on a single charge (42 hours with the case) means I never worry about them dying mid-run or during the workday. The case charges over USB-C and QI compatible wireless charging.
Sound Quality
The sound quality is fit-for-purpose rather than audiophile-grade. The bass response is adequate but not amazing, which is typical for open-ear designs. These aren’t optimal for music listening sessions where you want immersive sound, but they’re perfect for podcasts and audiobooks. The main weakness is the lack of isolation from outside noise – though that’s precisely the point of open-ear headphones. Be aware that at higher volumes, there’s noticeable sound leakage, so they’re not ideal for quiet office environments.
Connectivity and Calls
The connection stability is solid, and the multipoint pairing feature controlled through the SoundCore app is outstanding. Like Bose headphones, you can pair them with numerous devices – I have mine connected to 3 phones, 2 TVs, 4 computers, and 2 tablets. Switching between devices is seamless. For calls and Microsoft Teams meetings, they perform excellently, and I’ve received no complaints about microphone quality.
Versatility
Beyond running, these headphones shine around the house. I can listen to podcasts while remaining aware of my family, making them perfect for multitasking parents. The combination of comfort, battery life, and multipoint pairing makes them incredibly versatile.
The Verdict
If you have ear canal sensitivity issues or simply want situational awareness while listening, the SoundCore Aerofit 2 are an excellent choice. They won’t replace noise-canceling headphones for flights or focused music listening, but for running, podcasts, calls, and everyday use, they’re outstanding. I absolutely recommend them to fellow runners and anyone dealing with moisture-related ear problems.
