Symantec Antivirus – Password Recovery

Method 1:

Locate the following Registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareIntelLANDeskVirusProtect6CurrentVersion]

If there is a value for the ConsolePassword parameter, then clear the value and
restart the Symantec services.  This should reset the password back
to its default value, typically “symantec.”

Method 2:

On the computer running Symantec System Center, start Windows Explorer.
Go to Program FilesSymantecSymantec System CenterTools.
In the right pane, double-click the IFORGOT.exe file.
In the Primary server field, type the name of the server group’s primary server.
In the user field, type admin
In the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, type the new password.
Click Reset Password.

Note: The username is Case sensitive

Method 2 is tested on version 10.1
